Sian Ka’an & Punta Allen
The Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve (which means “Place where the sky is born” in Mayan) is a protected natural area located on the Caribbean coast of Quintana Roo, Mexico. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.

Information Sian Ka’an & Punta Allen
On the coast of the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, you’ll find wide white-sand beaches, small bays, and mangroves — each hosting unique ecosystems and diverse wildlife. Among the mangroves, you’ll spot red, black, white, and grey mangrove species.
During this tour, you’ll observe sea turtles in their natural habitat, as well as a variety of birds including cormorants, frigatebirds, pelicans, and sea eagles. You may also see dolphins swimming freely in Ascension Bay. Before visiting the famous natural pool of Punta Allen, known for its incredible turquoise waters, you’ll enjoy snorkeling at the coral reef.
Sunscreens are not allowed (even biodegradable ones). You may apply it one hour before boarding.

What does this Sian Ka’an & Punta Allen tour include?
08:00 – Pick-up in an air-conditioned van
09:00 – Arrival at the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve
09:45 – Begin a 10-minute jungle drive through the reserve to board a traditional fisherman’s boat. With an expert captain, you’ll cruise through lagoons and mangrove channels, spotting wildlife such as crocodiles, birds, and possibly manatees.
11:00 – Arrive at Punta Allen, where you’ll board another fishing boat for the second part of the adventure: dolphin watching, turtle spotting, snorkeling at the second-largest reef in the world, and relaxing in the natural pool — a true Caribbean paradise.
13:00 – Lunch at Fisherman Lodge Restaurant. From July to February, you can also purchase delicious lobster in addition to the buffet meal.
14:30 – Short 15-minute visit to the village of Punta Allen, where locals live simply, in harmony with nature — far from city noise.
15:45 – End of the tour. Return boat ride back to the van for transfer to your hotel.
